Toad Data Modeler is a program developed by Quest Software. Quest has been dedicated to making database management easier for DBAs and developers.
With Toad Data Modeler, Quest created a tool that allows easy design, modeling and administration of data.
Every experienced database administrator knows that a good, thorough design of a database has plenty of benefits, such as an execution speed, scalability and stability.
With TDM you can visually create the tables and their elements in a quick way. After that, the entity relationships models can be created in the same way. Model synchronization and database scripting are also included in the program main features.
It should be noted, that you can do reverse engineering modeling that allows DBAs to model previous databases without having to design it again from scratch.
At $479, the tool has a nice price tag, compared to similar products, although it is not the cheapest out there, but definitely competitive.
The manual in the actual package is not very good, however, the Toad community has plenty of tutorials on the Internet for beginners to get to grips with the program. Every DBA must consider this program in their tool list.

- New design of workspace and model tabs with closing cross.
- New Model type is possible to be set in Settings | Options | Model. By default, the last used model type is set.
Model Verification
- New Verificator tool has been implemented. Model Verification now offers a comfortable and efficient way of checking either whole model or its part for errors and flaws as well as it also provides Quick Fixes (recommended solutions).
- Verify button was added in DDL Script Generation wizard to be able to verify your model before script generation. Verified are the objects selected on Select List tab.
Quick Search
- New sophisticated Quick Search tool replaces former simple Find dialog.
- Search objects in the whole model or on your Workspace. Various search strategies are available.
Reverse Engineering
- In Reverse Engineering wizard, a new option was added when selecting tables to be loaded. You can start writing and the selection of tables changes instantly as you are typing.
Mall Creeps
