Organize, analyze and find various data in unstructured or qualitative storage modes like interviews, open-ended survey responses, articles, social media and other web content. Provides visualization for data from different sources and displays all the available statistics.
In a world where everywhere you look you find data, either it's text, video, or social media, it makes sense to create a tool to help researchers store, organize, categorize, and analyze data. Probably, this is why QSR NVivo was developed, to help users connect the dots faster, easier, and more efficiently in order to better organize and manage data.
QSR NVivo comes wrapped in a neatly crafted interface, with multiple customization options, and with a good choice of color mixture. Still, for a novice user, the interface can be confusing, mostly when navigating through tabs.
With QSR NVivo, you can analyze themes by one or two attributes, such as town or education details by just using the crosstabs. After being calculated, the results can be saved as an SPSS file and used in the future for more in-depth analysis.
Another embedded functionality is that users can now quickly access their information thanks to pin folders and items feature. Thus, they can use annotations to make notes and store their thoughts in memos for faster reporting.
Moreover, the program supports the import of Survey/Monkey and Qualtrics surveys directly into NVivo. The information from Microsoft Excel, IBM SPSS Statistics can also be imported and shared. Notes from Evernote and OneNote are supported, too.
To sum it up, QSR NVivo is a complex software solution for organizing and managing data, one that is equipped with various tools so that every user achieves their goals. The downsides are the price and the lack of cloud functionality.

Capture and analyse online data
NCapture: Optionally install NCapture - a web browser extension for Internet Explorer 7 (or later) and Google Chrome 21 (or later). Use NCapture to collect web pages or social media data and then import this content into NVivo.
Import web pages: Use NCapture to gather web pages and online PDFs, and then import them into NVivo as a PDF source.
Import Facebook wall posts and comments: Use NCapture to gather Facebook wall posts and comments from people, organizations or groups, and then import them into NVivo as dataset sources.
Import LinkedIn group discussions: Use NCapture to gather LinkedIn group discussions that are relevant to your research, and then import them into NVivo as dataset sources.
Import Tweets: Use NCapture to gather Tweets from Twitter—for example, Tweets that include a particular word, phrase or hashtag, or Tweets by a particular user—and then import them into NVivo as a dataset source.
Automatically code social media data: NVivo provides automatic coding features to quickly group social media data—for example, group Facebook wall posts by conversation, or group Tweets by hashtag.
Visualize social media data: NVivo provides automatic visualizations for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn datasets to help you see patterns in your data. For example, in a Twitter dataset, click the Chart tab to compare activity over time or compare users based on the number of followers they have. Import notes from Evernote or OneNote
Import your Evernote notes: Do you use Evernote to take notes, collect images or clip web pages? You can now import your notes into your project and work with them in NVivo.
Import your Evernote tags: If you tag your notes to categorize them in Evernote, you can convert the tags to nodes and coding when you import your notes.
Import your OneNote pages (NVivo 10 Service Pack 1 and later): The NVivo Add-In for OneNote is optionally installed with the NVivo software. If you use OneNote to gather notes, images or keep track of ideas, you can export this content using the add-in and then bring it into your NVivo project.
