Protect My Disk 6.3

Protect My Disk is a program designed to prevent the virus infection of your disk drives. It is mainly intended to protect USB drives, but you can use it to protect any disk drive (as seen in the screen shots).

The program will automatically display all the disk drives detected by the computer, and then you can select which one you want it to protect. If, for whatever reason, you wish to reverse this process and render your drive once more unprotected, you can do so by selecting the "Restore" function. As such, the tool is very easy to use and straightforward.

Nevertheless, although Protect My Disk does fulfill its basic intended function, it explicitly does not provide for an update of virus definitions, which constitutes a disadvantage over time. If you consider your USB protected by the program, you may not be sufficiently wary when connecting it to a new device, and hence expose your drive to infection with new, yet undefined viruses.

Overall, Protect My Disk is a simple, straightforward tool for protecting your drives against virus infection, but you should bear in mind the limitations of its virus definitions.
