Proof is created to assist users in previewing documents before saving them to a different disk location. The application is meant to accompany document editors that do not provide a preview of the file before exporting it. As a document viewer, I noticed Proof supports PDF, TXT, RTF as well as HTML type files.
When running the utility, a welcome screen displays a short introduction and tips on how to use Proof. Basically, it requires a folder input, and goes through all files (even those formats it does not support) previewing them. After viewing them, Proof can export all the data to a new directory.
While designed primarily to work with documents, the application actually moves all folder contents to a new destination, regardless of format; there are no filters available for marking just a group of files for exporting. If your folder of documents contains a file that you don’t need, you won’t be able to use Proof in order to take care the matter, as it is mainly designed for previewing purposes.
Proof is best used as a slideshow tool for documents; that is, you can quickly browse through the contents of multiple files provided they are all supported by the viewer.
