Process Hacker is an open-source alternative to the popular Task Manager integrated in Windows. It includes various tools that can help you terminate processes, edit or view memory addresses, as well as run applications and create new services. Additionally, it comes with a generous number of plugins that were created by the developers for purposes like network monitoring, handling sandboxing processes, etc. The program runs on both 32- and 64-bit systems and is supported by all Windows versions (including Windows 8).
Although, I was quite impressed by the functionality of this program, I consider that it should be used only by users with advanced PC knowledge. It should be mentioned that beginners might find the program quite difficult to use. Also, there is the possibility to cause your system to malfunction if you make wrong changes in the process list.
This version of Process Hacker comes with improvements like the ability to save process priority, as well as to terminate processes on 32-bit Windows 8. Also, minor modifications were performed on its graphical user interface.
In my opinion, Process Hacker has all it takes to become your default “task manager”. It even offers you this option when you first run it.
