Prizmo is a scanning utility that's packed with OCR technology and is capable of recognizing the text content from your image files or documents. The program also provides you with multiple editing options which might prove to be of good use if you want to easily crop or add new content to your scanned pictures.
This application is very intuitive, allows you to import various types of files, and provides you with a certain processing method depending on the type of file you wish to edit. Furthermore, it comes with support for 10 built-in languages. You can download additional language packs without paying a buck.
The program can be used to delete regions from the imported scanned image, merge paragraphs, attach new text content, etc. Once you finish editing the scanned document, you can export it to your local folders. The app lets you choose which pages from the imported file to be exported to the selected output format.
An advantage is that Prizmo preserves the quality of the original document. It also takes minimum time to export the selected scanned files.
You need to take two aspects into consideration before purchasing this utility for your Mac: the fact that it supports a small amount of output formats (PNG, PDF, JPEG, and TIFF) and that its Pro edition provides you with more features. It's up to you to decide, based on your needs, if this program is the right choice for you.
