Pomosh is a time-tracking tool built on the Pomodoro technique. It boosts your productivity by keeping you focused on your work, so you can finish your planned activities in due time. However, you can alternate your work sessions with breaks to regain your strength for the next round.
The application installs in the menu bar of your Mac. This way, you can access it with ease whenever you need it. The Preferences menu allows you to set the duration of the work sessions and the time interval for breaks that you consider most suitable for you. A work session can range from 20 to 60 minutes, while breaks can be configured to last from 5 to 10 minutes.
Depending on your workload and the execution rhythm of your activity, you can set the number of work/break cycles for a work session. A small window displays in a unitary view the remaining work/break time and the number of cycles to the end of the session. Unfortunately, the tool doesn't support setting long and short breaks to alternate with the work times. You can configure a custom duration for the break, which will repeat linearly during the entire session. Yet, you can pause the countdown at any time and resume from there. The utility provides both acoustic and visual notifications, though the sound notification is rather imperceptible.
To sum up, Pomosh is a simple time-keeping app with a menu bar representation. A flame icon indicates that it is working time, while a coffee cup suggests it is break time. This way, you can know at a glance when it is time to work and when to rest.
