PointerFocus is a very simple tool specially intended to make your presentations more illustrative by highlighting the mouse pointer in different ways. This avoids the problem of using the tiny default pointer, which you can´t find at times, particularly when you´re using a big screen. You should be aware that, although its installer weighs less than a megabyte, the tool requires installing Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5, which could increase the total download size.
The tool makes your actions more noticeable and understandable for the audience by not only changing the mouse pointer but also by highlighting such events as keystrokes and magnifying a part of the screen. Besides, it supports making on-screen annotations. Fortunately, the tool creates very nice effects, including surrounding the pointer with a circle or creating a spotlight effect. Moreover, the tool allows controlling the mouse from an Android device.
All in all, PointerFocus is a small application that can actually add value to your presentations. It has the main advantage of being extremely easy to use. However, in my opinion, the price of this tool, as small as it may seem, is still too much for such a simple application. Besides, it´s possible to find better alternatives out there.
