Huge online multiplayer space epic coming soon to Mac

PlanetSide 2 is a free massively multiplayer online first person shooter which the developers Sony have confirmed will be released on Mac.

In PlanetSide 2, the balance of power constantly shifts between three warring factions - Terran Republic, New Conglomerate and Vanu Sovereignty - over control of the planet Auraxis. PlanetSide 2 is an enormous game with huge maps and hundreds of players fighting at the same time. The game switches between light and day with night vision goggles possible for night time operations and even thermal sensors to see cloaked stealth players.

The ultimate aim of PlanetSide 2 is power and control over Auraxis which gain by controlling as much territory as possible. PlanetSide 2 has been completely overhauled with a new graphics engine and skill progression taking place even when players aren't online. Although PlanetSide 2 will be free to play, it will be a freemium game meaning there will be in-game purchases and cash transactions possible.
