PixBuilder Studio is intended to create, view and edit images, mainly photographs. The tool supports most popular picture formats, such as BMP, PNG, JPG, GIF, TIFF, PCX, TGA, PSD and ICO. One of its main assets is that it allows working with multiple layers.
The program permits common operations as rotating and resizing an image. A complete set of brush tools let you draw freehand. To correct imperfections, you can use the Clone Stamp and the Healing Brush tools. Likewise, the program lets you add formatted text captions. Moreover, it comes with multiple built-in effects, such as blur, emboss and sharpness. It is also possible to manually adjust various parameters, such as levels, curves, color balance, brightness and contrast. Fortunately, the application allows various ways to select given areas of the image, for instance, using the Magic Wand or a color range. Good news is that you can also use masks, which protect certain parts of the image to be affected by editing operations. Finally, you can always undo a group of changes if they do not look as you expected.
In general, PixBuilder Studio may not include as many sophisticated features as those available from the leading software of its type; however, it is an excellent choice if you need to perform casual picture editing and have a low budget.
