Everybody who works on a computer knows how tedious writing the same thing over and over again can be. And if you're writing a scientific paper, imagine how annoying it would be to have to constantly write words like "latissimus" and "pharmacopoeia". A tool like PhraseExpander can help solve these types of issues.
PhraseExpander is an application that helps you create templates for the texts/words that you constantly have to repeat so you can easily use them whenever you need to.You can assign abbreviations or shortcuts to specific texts and, whenever you need to use the previously mentioned text, you can just type in the abbreviation and the tool will automatically fill in the rest.
What's really cool about PhraseExpander is that it can be used with any application that you're running, so you won't have any compatibility issues. Another positive aspect is that the tool provides step-by-step video tutorials, that's why learning how to take advantage of its entire functionality shouldn't be a problem.
To be perfectly honest, I didn't actually find any real disadvantages. If you're asking me to be overly-critical I can tell you that creating your personalized glossary could take a while, but the amount of time you will save in the long run will be worth it.
As far as my personal opinion goes, PhraseExpander is actually a very useful tool to have around. The application is effective, easy to use and you can try it out for free, so there's no reason not to give it a try.
