PhotoRescue Pro brings back to life not only nearly all lost or deleted photographs and image files, but a number of other multimedia objects, such as AVI, MOV, and MPEG videos, as well as WAV audio files. All in all, the program supports 35 media file types, including – among others – Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Sony, Konika, and Canon RAW file formats. It doesn’t matter how you lost your media files, as PhotoRescue Pro can recover deleted, corrupted, and formatted files from a wide variety of hard drives, cameras, and external storage devices.
As we all are likely to lose some of our beloved photographs or video files at least once in our lifetime, it is important that recovery tools are designed in ways that make them suitable for all types of users. PhotoRescue Pro offers you a wizard-like interface with a maximum of 6 simple steps. If you are lucky and your files have not been heavily damaged after deletion, you may only need to go as far as step 3. First you have to select the drive where the file used to be and then wait until the program performs a quick file system scan. It will detect all deleted files on the selected drive, and will give you the opportunity of recovering your lost file(s) right away. If that doesn’t work, you will need to proceed to plan B – deep sector scan. Once you have ticked on or off the file formats you want the program to look for, the sector scan will examine each cluster in the storage device looking for recoverable files. These will be shown on Step 6, where you can view and retrieve as many of them as needed.
The entire recovery process is simple and rewarding, and you can apply it to a wide variety of hard drives, external hard disks, CompactFlash cards, IBM Microdrives, SmartMedia cards, MMCs, and SD cards, together with memory sticks and other USB storage devices.
