PhotoGPSEditor is an application that assists users in editing and embedding geographic coordinates in images. With this tool you can keep track of the locations where the photographs were taken. It runs in two modes, wizard and advanced, making it suitable for both novice and power users.
The utility works with JPEG, RAW or TIFF image formats and automatically detects existing coordinates within these files. If the data is not present, you may add it manually or by loading GPS files (GPX or NMEA).
The Wizard guides the user through all the necessary steps required to add and edit GPS parameters. The Advanced mode however, provides a more flexible approach; the GPS data may be loaded or edited and a map is available to help you pinpoint to a specific location.
With PhotoGPSEditor you can add latitude, longitude, altitude coordinates but also city, province / state, country, description and comments.
PhotoGPSEditor does its job quite nicely. The application comes with a tutorial and sample images and GPS files which illustrate some of the features available. On the other hand, it includes support for just a handful of graphic formats which considerably restricts its appeal.
