PDF Checkpoint has the main purpose of confirming the availability and validity of all the digital files necessary for the correct printing of a PDF. Moreover, it supports such common actions as routing, exporting, splitting and optimizing PDFs. Fortunately, the application allows processing batches of files, which saves a lot of your time and effort.

PDF Checkpoint has an easy-to-use interface that supports importing PDF documents by simply dragging and dropping them onto the main window. Then, you can pick any of the numerous preflight profiles, which immediately shows detailed information regarding the fonts, color spaces, images and metadata of the loaded files. Luckily, the application can automatically classify the PDFs according to the results of the preflight by sending them to success or error folders.

As said before, there is a group of additional actions supported by this tool. In this regard, PDF Checkpoint can convert a document into a sequence of images in various popular formats (TIFF, JPEG, PNG, GIF, or BMP). Likewise, it is possible to configure the output resolution as well as page scale. However, it does not let you convert just a given page range. The tool can also split PDFs into various one-page documents. Again, you are not allowed to choose just some pages or split using other criteria. Finally, the application helps you optimize PDF size by compressing images or downsampling their resolution.

All in all, PDF Checkpoint helps you automate preflighting and converting PDF files. In this respect, I have no complaints about the performance of the tool. The product is free to try for a month.
