Sometimes you need to type in the path of a file or a folder or maybe just a filename. Sure, you can go to the Address bar in Windows Explorer, copy the text, go to your document and paste it. Of course, if you also need the file's name, you have to start the rename process, copy the name, escape out of the rename, then go to your document and paste it in. I don't need to tell you how tedious this is.
That's why I wrote PathToClipboard. There are other extensions that do a similar job, but they either do too much (cluttering my menus) or they do too little (only work on one file at a time).
PathToClipboard copies the path, directory, or name of the selected file to the clipboard. It also copies the paths or names when you select multiple files, folders, and shortcuts. It even follows shortcuts and offers to copy the path, directory, or name of the file the shortcut is pointing to. (PathToClipboard presents those paths in a separate menu.)
