The Packet Engine Professional Edition for Windows operating systems is a handy utility for any amateur radio enthusiast. From the program's simple to use interface, you will be able to use your sound card as a physical terminal node controller by using the TNC/Sound Card set up Wizard, which will automatically set up your serial port, sound card and configure your radio ports. You can adjust any settings using the Radio Port Manager option provided and all settings are easily viewed, enabling you to see at a glance any connected packet stations, programs, or radio stations that can be heard.
The program also provides a sound card tuning aid that you can use that includes Eye Scatter, Waterfall, Sine Wave, and Frequency Spectrum displays. Two radios can be connected to each sound card and the sound card modem features "on air" baud rates of 300, 1200, 2400, and 9600. The program also features an optional setting of TCP/IP Over Radio, which allows you to send TCP/IP data sentences via packet to Internet gateways. Program updates are automatically checked for and installed, and detailed help files are available for you when you download the program.
