Even though its name might suggest one thing, the program doesn't actually open any files. Instead, it provides you with information about the imported document and lets you know which of your installed tools can be used to open the file. If you don't have a program that can complete the aforementioned tasks, the utility looks online for tools that can be used to open the document in question.

To reveal information about a file from your Mac, simply drag-and-drop it over this tool's icon (can be found on your Dock). Open Any File will immediately analyze the imported data and reveal it. Some types of files, such as images can be previewed directly from its interface.

You will also get access to detailed information about the loaded file, such as checksums (SHA1, SHA256, MD2, and MD5), HEX dump (raw file content), owner's name, size, etc.

The only bad aspect is that, while testing the tool on my Mac, it occasionally freezed. This doesn't mean that it's the program's fault. I was running a couple of utilities while Open Any File freezed.

In conclusion, you should give Open Any File. It's easy-to-use, provides you with accurate information, and comes without a price.
