OneDrive is a utility that comes as an alternative to using Mac's iCloud application for backing up the files on your computer. The program is compatible with various types of platforms, features easy-to-configure settings, and immediately completes any given task, without slowing down the performance of your system in the process.
You can use the app to sync files between your local folders and your OneDrive account. A personal account can be created on the homepage of the developer. After you log in using your account credentials, OneDrive creates a folder on your Mac where you can drag-and-drop the files you wish to back up to the Cloud service account. By doing so, you get immediate access to your documents while you're away from your Mac, directly from a tablet, smartphone or different computer.
The application keeps a log with all successful transfers in its main screen. However, this history log is automatically deleted after you shut down the OneDrive app on your Mac.
Another disadvantage is that you can find other Cloud service apps which provide you with cheaper rates, such as iCloud. They aren't as feature-rich as this app, but are more affordable.
Still, you can upload up to 5GB worth of data to your OneDrive account and use the app for as long as you like once you reach the aforementioned limit. Plus, the program works great and is very simple to handle. So, it's up to you to decide if this is the right app for you or not.
