Some may think chess is an outdated pastime in the era of consoles and videogames, but I'm sure many people still enjoy this ancient game. Thinking about them, we've tested NetChess, a chess game for PC that enables you to play chess either in a local area network or over the Internet.
Both players need to have NetChess installed: one of them will host the game and the other will connect to it via the IP address. Another option is to play the game with both players sitting in front of the same computer. In any case, games in NetChess always need at least two people, that is, you can't play against the computer.
The game records all movements in a window beside the board. The whole game can be then played again to review movements and strategies. NetChess also includes a built-in chat tool to talk to your opponent while playing.
A simple chess game to play and chat with your friends in LAN or over the Internet.
