There are two modes: Casual and Advanced. In Casual mode, the objects you found will be placed on their corresponding places automatically, while in the Advanced mode, you will need to place the objects. Both modes include hints, but in Advanced mode, they take longer to recharge. There will be tasks that you need to complete in order to continue with the game.
