myiHome 3.5.1 is a media server for Windows computers. The server itself installs on any Windows computer and sends content to any player that can read its content. The application will scan your computer for files that are supported (most are) and will then relay the content to other computers, media players, or other devices. myiHome works in the same way as Windows Media Center. By default, myiHome looks for content on the My Videos, My Music and My Pictures folders. But there is a feature called Watch folder that allows you to add any number of other folders. This powerful server will not only recognize video and audio files and pictures, it will also detect playlists and search for files linked therein. This application comes bundled with several living-room media players, but it is so basic and powerful that would make for a great server for any number of devices. Although it is not as well known as Windows Media Center and the alternatives, it seems to have a lot of potential. Making use of uPNP technology, installation is really straight-forward. Bonjour also allows myiHome to find other devices on the network and relay content to them.
