MXP Browser is not a typical browser as we know it, it is a program that allows the user to view the contents of MasterCook MXP export files. MXP Browser has the role of an additional tool to the program MasterCook and is aimed at those users who don’t have this program installed on their computers. It is compatible with MasterCook 3 to 6.
The screen consists of two columns. On one side there are categories of recipes, which are presented in alphabetical order, and on the other side the contents of the chosen recipe are shown. These recipes can be saved in .MXP files.
The software is still not well developed by the author. This sourgeforge.net project has stayed untouched for 5 years. There are still many details to be smoothened. Installation is a little difficult as the downloaded file has to be copied manually to a new folder, as well as the Cook Books you want to use. Nevertheless, it is free, and everybody can learn to use it.
In my opinion this software is useful for few people, because there are not many persons who will have MasterCook files on their computer without having downloaded the MasterCook program, especially since it is completely free of charge. Having in mind this fact, I recommend downloading this program only to those with specific interests.
