MXGP3 - The Official Motocross Videogame is the latest and possibly greatest of entries in the Motocross series of motorbiking video games. In it, you fly across a large, open track, racing against opponents and possibly even competing against them in a lengthy championship. MXGP3 makes the track shape matter much more, gives you tons of parts to slap on your bike, and has fairly good graphics, but how does it measure up overall?
As mentioned, MXGP3 - The Official Motocross Videogame does something unique relative to its predecessors in that there are bumps, walls of dirt and so on to be found throughout the track. Unlike in previous titles, these are very noticeable: you'll go up and down with a start, giving you more of a sense of navigating a wild and unpredictable Motocross track. Unfortunately, the game doesn't capitalize perfectly on this: the physics are still very loose, with little difference between a big jump and a bigger jump, and little impact when you land.
Despite fantastic controls and improvements to the track, MXGP3 - The Official Motocross Videogame is one you'll most likely enjoy if you enjoyed previous Motocross video games in the series. The ability to customize your bike is a lot of fun to tinker with, but the actual racing experience has only changed somewhat. If you want an arcade-style racing game, then you might want MXGP3.
