The application has a minimalistic interface. You should begin by signing in to your Musicnotes account. Then, you can access one of the most extensive music collections available online. There is a panel from where you can search for local or cloud files and create a set list. Besides, you can also preview the sheet’s contents, although you can access only the first page if you have not bought it yet.

It is excellent that Musicnotes lets you organize your music into folders and set lists, which you can easily search and browse. Likewise, it conveniently supports instant transpositions. In this respect, you can change keys and pick the one best adapted to your musical style or vocal range. Similarly, it is possible to adjust the tempo to your requirements.

For practicing purposes, if you intend to use it for a particular instrument only, then you can lower the volume of other instruments or simply mute them altogether. Moreover, it lets you practice a given segment by setting a loop. There are also several ways to make various kinds of annotations, including a built-in pen, highlighter and text tools. Luckily, you can hide these annotations selectively. However, it seems not to support Apple Pencil for markups.

All in all, Musicnotes can help you learn and practice new music thanks to its integration to a carefully curated collection. The product is free but the music scores need to be purchased. In this regard, there is an inconvenience: buying them through the app is more expensive than through a web browser.
