Mobiscope is an application that lets you view your webcam remotely. The app lets you share any web camera connected to your Mac and see what it is seeing on your phone or other mobile devices. The server application, which you can install on your Windows or Mac computer, is absolutely free. There are apps for iOS and other mobile phones, but those aren't free. I did my testing of this app with my Macbook and an iPad. The setup was actually really easy and quick. All you have to do is register a computer number (it is free). Then you use that number to connect to your Mac from your mobile device. This is a great solution for users who are behind a router or firewall. Both my Mac and my iPad were on the same network, though.
You can add up to four cameras in Mobiscope. They can be USB cameras or network cameras. I added my monitor camera and my iSight, and they both worked very well. This app also allows you to record video when movement is detected. But you can't really customize much about it. There is a limit of 1 gigabyte for recordings. And you can't change any of the video recording settings. After you reach the limit of 1GB, the oldest recordings will be deleted to make room for new ones.
