Surreal psychological horror game for PC

Midnight Monitor: Aldercourt is a premium adventure game for PC coming from developer Viexi Games. This first-person psychologicalhorrorexperience is set in a subway train station that upon first perception, is seemingly endless. Players will navigate its pathways as they witness all sorts of strange occurrences.

Similar to Boxes: Lost Fragments or The House of Da Vinci 2, Midnight Monitor: Aldercourt incorporates hidden object mechanics in its gameplay. Players will need to watch out for subtle changes to the environment as they find themselves stuck in a loop.

Endless loop

Midnight Monitor: Aldercourt takes place in the titular Aldercourt Station, a subway train stop situated in the heart of London's Travel Network of interconnected lines. It's one of the places you can explore in your tour of the city. However, you're finding it hard to navigate through its passages as if you're running around in circles. Things are taking a turn for the curious and bizarre.

At its core, this horror game is an atmospheric walking simulator with hidden object mechanics wherein you will keenly search for subtle changes as you loop around the station. There are over 40 anomalies to spot and observe. It can be anything from people acting a little strange to writings on the wall and even outright bizarre objects appearing out of nowhere.

Most of the things you'll witness are harmless, but there will be instances when your life will be in danger from someone or something coming straight at you. Keep on high alert and react quickly. Be prepared for jump scares. The game’s developer said that it is heavily inspired by scary internet stories around the Backrooms, the Liminal Spaces concept, and other games of the same genre.

A different experience

Most psychological horror experiences revolve around dark and atmospheric situations, but Midnight Monitor: Aldercourt breaks that norm with its unique take on the genre that's disturbing yet dreamlike at the same time. Its unusually bright and chipper presentation belies its sinister underlying. The game can be completed from 15 minutes to two hours. Some players may opt to find every anomaly and play longer.
