Microsoft LifeChat 1.3 is the latest version of the driver for Microsoft LifeChat headsets. Microsoft LifeChat headset is a very good quality product. The sound quality is just great, with a noise cancelling microphone. Well, this software doesn't have many options to customize. It just serves as the driver and also, there is a small application to set 3 options: "Pause audio when making a call", "While answering a call", and "Resume audio when ending a call".

Now, most of the Microsoft Lifechat headsets have a USB interface for the PC, rather than the regular analog connection. That means a driver is necessary. Digital interface ensures high quality audio input and output.

The installation may sometimes fail with an error message saying that an error occurred while downloading the setup files or components. What you need to do is, start the computer in "Diagnostic Startup" (can be set in the msconfig.exe, general tab) and install it. After that you can enable normal startup. The problem is that many services are there that could interrupt the installation.

As with other Microsoft Products, the hardware is costly or can be called "Premium Pricing".
