The Microdata Management Toolkit is a CD-ROM Builder developed by the World Bank Data Group for the International Household Survey Network. It is designed to promote the adoption of international standards and best practices for microdata documentation, dissemination, and preservation. The Toolkit consists of three modules: the Metadata Editor, used to document data according to international metadata standards (DDI and Dublin Core); the Explorer, a free reader for files generated by the Metadata Editor; and the CD-ROM Builder, which allows users to export data into various common formats (Stata, SPSS, etc).
