MetaNow 2.2.1

Inspect movies or television show episodes you are currently watching on a Mac. Receive information about the production of the media, including cast, crew, director names, genre definitions, studio licensing, IMDB creating, etc. Check the info without closing the current app.

MetaNow gives you the possibility to quickly inspect a Movie or TV Show you are watching right now, getting Informations about Directors, Genres, Studios, IMDB Ratings and more without leaving your currently active Application.

MetaNow runs in background as an Agent, you can find it in the Menubar near the Clock at the top right of your Screen, click on it to either access the Settings or to quit!

Imaging this: You are watching a Movie and suddenly think, I know this Person, from which Movie it was? Well, with MetaNow it’s pretty easy. Simply activate it over a supported Player and you get an instant Overview of the Cast, see their real Names or Role Names, click one to see their Details incl. Movie/TV Show Credits and you can even click one of these to go further, like: She starred in this Movie, ok, as who starred She in THIS Movie?, With MetaNow it’s pretty easy, because click any “Known for Movie/TV Show” and you can see detailed Informations about this Release as well

If available, you can watch official Trailers before you watch a Movie, see who is guest starring in a TV Episode if available

But MetaNow can do more: If the suggested Movie is a wrong Match, pick an Alternative, or even search manually for any Movie you want to check out, no matter what you are watching right now…

On Plex, you get additional Informations about this Video File you are familiar from PLEXWeb like what are the Audio/ Video Codecs, how many Audio Channels and some more Informations

Important Notice:

MetaNow will become available only in fullscreen Modes, so a windowed Player will not be able to start MetaNow, this is by design!

For all Occasions, please remember, MetaNow works as expected mostly in full screen mode, there might be occasions, when a Player plays the Video inside of a Window like Apple TV App, it should work anyway, but if the Search Pane apperas instead, it might be required to enter full screen mode first to be able to use the Overlay HUD e.g.
