Revisit an action classic in Metal Slug

Metal Slug is a 2D, side-scrolling run-and-gun action game in which you play a heroic lone soldier battling your way through hordes of enemies to rescue captured prisoners. As you progress, you'll gather powerful new weapons and even gain access to the Metal Slug, a deadly but adorable tank that will help you battle the ever-more-powerful bosses you'll face along the way.

Run, shoot, die, repeat

Metal Slug is an arcade actin classic that's been enjoyed by generations of gamers on a range of different platforms, and this mobile version carries on the tradition. The action is fast and furious, and the simple graphics have a wonderful cartoonish quality to them that produces a fun contrast with the scenes of bloodshed and devastation. The mobile controls are a little tricky to get used to, which is a shame in a game that relies to a great extent on fast reactions and split-second timing. The touch controller could stand to be a little more responsive. The good news is that the original arcade control system was very simple -- you basically just move, jump and shoot -- so that aspect translates easily to a touchscreen.

Metal Slug is one of the best action games ever, and although this mobile port isn't perfect, it's still a good way to enjoy this classic.
