3D-video technology has become incredibly popular in the last years, mainly due to its use in large cinematographic productions like Avatar. The developers from Engelmann Media went one step further and made this available for any movie by creating MakeMe3D, an application that converts any "normal", 2D video into a 3D one. A three-dimensional movie enhances the illusion of depth perception by generating two perspectives of the same scene. The application is able to do this conversion thanks to the included algorithms of object recognition and motion analysis.
MakeMe3D works with most popular video file formats like DVD video, AVI, WMV, MP4, 3GP, or MPG. The default saving profiles adapt the video final resolution to various devices like iPhone, iPad, or gaming consoles. Users can also edit resulting movie's brightness, 3D Depth, or the frame offset, further enhancing the output.
The program supports all currently used 3D visualization glasses: Polarisation, Anaglyph, and Shutter.
In order to view the movies in 3D, a special display or TV set and a pair of dedicated glasses are necessary. Without this equipment, the converted movies will just appear blurred and fuzzy.
