MacX Free iPhone Ripper for Mac is a DVD ripper that can be used to convert DVD movies into files that you can later store and watch on your iPhone or iPod, or any other device that supports the MPEG-4 or H.264 formats. These days, most devices will play those formats. You can also play them on any modern computer. With this ripper, you can either load a DVD disk or, if you have copied its contents to your hard drive, you can also load the folder where you stored it. When the DVD movie is loaded, you can select the DVD titles that you want to convert, and you can choose if you want to convert it for playback on the iPhone or iPod using the conversion tabs at the bottom of the screen. MacX Free iPhone Ripper for Mac also allows you to convert your DVD movies to MP3 files.
There are 9 conversion profiles for the iPhone and 14 for iPods. These profiles are just optimized conversion settings. Some of them use different resolutions, and roughly half of them use the H.264 format and the other, the MPEG-4 format.
In my testing, I popped in a DVD movie, selected the main title and then used the trimmer to cut it to a 1-minute clip. The conversion process took less than 20 seconds and the resulting file looked great.
