PortsNotifier is an open source and free notifier that alerts Mac users to new outdated programs in MacPorts. It is similar to the "Updater Manager" in Ubuntu and works with MacPorts, which currently offers 12,204 ports across 96 categories. PortsNotifier requires OS X 10.4 Intel or greater.
