MacForge helps you manage macOS plugins. In this respect, the tool saves you from manually searching, cloning, copying and installing plugins. The application has an easy-to-use interface, with tabs that allow navigating through its various features. Unfortunately, the help documentation is poor.
The tool is an excellent choice for browsing and discovering plugins. Fortunately, the collection of available plugins is quite extensive. In this respect, there is a tab that shows featured plugins. Likewise, there are others for discovering, managing and updating plugins. When searching for plugins, you can use specific criteria, such as name, developer and ID. Moreover, you can view the description of each repository and make better decisions.
As to managing plugins, it is good that you can use the tool to install, delete, enable and disable plugins. Additionally, you can prevent some applications from loading plugins by creating a sort of blacklist. Finally, MacForge can automatically update bundles or otherwise send you notifications whenever an update is detected.
All in all, MacForge is one of the best choices when it comes to managing macOS plugins. The product is open-source and available at no cost. Luckily, there is a community of developers supporting MacForge. However, the product may still have some bugs. Just a few examples: it does not retain the correct window size when it recovers the focus and it may also fail to open automatically after login. It is even worse that some crashes are reported.
