MacDraft Pro is a computer-aided-design tool that allows carrying out different types of projects. In this respect, the app supports various types of architectural drawings, like floor plans, garden plans, technical illustrations, site plans, as well as engineering drawings. Likewise, it lets you perform more artistic illustrations as well.
The application has a well-designed interface, which has been made as intuitive as possible. However, due to its mainly technical nature, it is likely to have a steep learning curve for most users. Luckily, there is plenty of documentation to help you find your way. Similarly, it is excellent you do not need to start from scratch as there as multiple templates and ready-made elements you can use.
It is important to say that MacDraft Pro supports 2D illustrations. In this regard, it has practically anything you need. For instance, it supports working with multiple layers, which facilitates drawing and visualizing different aspects separately.
It comes with drawing tools for different types of shapes, curves and lines as well as freehand brushes. Good to know it supports vector drawings. Likewise, it allows using not only the metric but the imperial system of measures as well. Thus, you can enter the exact measurement and location of each of the items you are drawing.
Luckily, MacDraft Pro is compatible with a long array of document and picture formats, including BMP, JPG, PICT, TIFF, GIF, PDF, PSD and PNG. This allows sharing your work with other users and CAD applications.
Regrettably, unlike other similar tools, MacDraft Pro is strictly intended for 2D drawings, which means that it does not support 3D modelling. Likewise, it does not allow BIM models either.
All in all, I am sure that you will appreciate MacDraft Pro if you are an architect, engineer or graphic artist. The product has a high price, which is why the possibility to try it at no cost is so welcomed. There is also a personal edition. Unluckily, the product has not been optimized for Catalina.
