LittleShoot is a P2P application, developed by one of the creators of LimeWire, that allows us to share our files by means of our web browser. In the developer’s words, LittleShoot would be like “Google for files instead of web pages”. Specifically, it is a plug-in, and what it does, is turn our web browser into a P2P client, through which we can share all types of files regardless of their size.
After a simple installation, and by entering Littleshoot.org in our browser window, we can start sharing our files. To begin with, LittleShoot works with any of these web browsers: Internet Explorer (7+), Opera, and Mozilla Firefox. It allows us to download videos, images, music, documents, and applications, as it connects to Flickr, IsoHunt, Yahoo, YouTube, and LimeWire networks.
To download a file, we simply write the name of an artist, movie, or video, and wait for the results, the same as in any P2P client. LittleShoot’s most interesting feature comes when we want to upload a file. We simply choose a file, of any size, add some tags, and LittleShoot makes it instantly available to download by publishing the file's metadata. On the other hand, LittleShoot has an integrated media player that allows us to play our files in streaming mode while they are downloading.
One shortcoming of this version is that we cannot select a folder for our downloads, apart from the constant errors appearing when trying to share a file. Besides, it does not support multiple search options.
