LICEcap is a Mac utility that helps you record your screen activity and save the recordings as GIF files. The application might come in handy if you need to create a tutorial for a program you've developed, record game walkthroughs, etc.
You don't need much computer experience in order to work with this program as it's very intuitive. All you need to do is to select the area you wish to record, configure the output settings according to your needs, and you can start capturing your desktop activity.
The app allows you to define a global hotkey for immediately pausing recording and provides you with options to include mouse clicks into the recording and show time lapse. Furthermore, it can stop video recording after a certain amount of time.
Unfortunately, that's all this app has to offer you. Unlike other screen recording tools, this program doesn't provide you with any editing options (crop or watermark the results) and supports only one format (GIF). Also, it occasionally runs slow, especially when starting the recording process.
In my opinion, you should look for a different screen capturing utility for your Mac as this app comes with many flaws and doesn't work 100%.
