Leawo Mac HD Video Converter is a commercial video converter. It can be used to convert pretty much any video file to a variety of different formats, including MKV, MP4, AVI, DivX, XviD, VOB, MPG, FLV, and DAT. The main difference between this converter and the regular, non-HD, converters by Leawo is that it includes profiles with higher resolutions (hence the HD). in other respects there aren't any other differences.
This application's input and output format support is great. You can open any file and convert it to the formats I mentioned above. There is a video player that you can use to preview your videos, but not the effects of the conversion. You can also use the built-in editor to trim and crop your video, add watermarks to it, or adjust its brightness, contrast and saturation.
The graphical user interface looks very nice and it was responsive during my testing. All the conversion profiles are neatly organized into descriptive categories and by device. If you don't want to convert a file for a specific device, you can simply choose the "General Video" group and select one of the formats listed there.
In my testing, I had no problems converting MKV and HD MP4 files. When I converted my sample MKV file, I chose an HD MOV profile, and the two files were nearly identical after conversion.
