LaunchPanel is a software program that lets you open from one place the apps, files, and folders you use more often. This way, the menu bar and your Dock remain uncluttered. In addition, your productivity is improved, since you no longer waste time browsing your computer each time you want to launch a particular app or open a file or a folder you frequently access.
Considering the purpose for which it was created, the LaunchPanel app can't be anything but easy to use. However, figuring out how to launch the utility for the first time can take a while. Clicking the app's icon in the menu bar neither launches the program nor drops down an Open menu. You need to go to Preferences, see the shortcut, and activate the program with the hotkey. Yet, the good thing is that the default shortcut can be changed to a custom hotkey, so you can remember it more easily.
Once LaunchPanel is opened, all you need to do is drag and drop or browse for your favorite apps, files, or folders. It's preferable not to clutter the panel with too many icons. You need to see at a glance the icon you are looking for, mainly because a search option is missing. The tool supports adding multiple items to the panel. Yet, clearing the launch window can be done only by removing icons one by one.
In short, LaunchPanel is a simple program that gathers in one place your favorite apps, files, and folders for quick launch.
