
JXplorer is an attractive browser offering advanced security integration along with support for relatively tougher and obscure portions of the ldap protocol. The developers claim the software is tested and run on a variety of operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, Solaris and OS390, and is supposed to have the capability to operate on any Java supporting operating system.
The program key features include standard ldap operations such as add, copy, delete, modify along with complex operations like tree copy and delete. It has facilitates optional GUI based search filter construction and possesses SSL and SASL certification. It also provides pluggable editors, viewers and security providers, along with HTML templates for displaying the data.
JXplorer offers complete i18n support, LDIF file format support and is decently configurable by the user featuring the drag & drop operation. It also has DSML Support with the capability to handle complex ldap cases, such as multi-valued rdns, certificates and passwords, binary attributes, special characters, Unicode characters, and UTF8 in distinguished names. The software features good architecture with object class based Java plugins.
