Jimmy's Magic Packet is a small, simple, free and innovative program that will perform a simple task in an efficient way. With this tool you will be able to wake up a PC remotely through your LAN. All you have to do is know the MAC address of the remote PC, type it on the program interface, and click on the "wake up" button.
The application uses the Wake On LAN technology which lets you wake up a turned off PC that is connected to a LAN (Local Area Network). Thanks to this technology, the program sends small packs to a MAC address on your LAN, and in this way, it wakes up the remote PC. In addition, you can save MAC addresses under names, in order to use them in a more comfortable way.
One annoying feature of this program is that you have to discover the MAC address of each remote PC yourself. But don't worry, this is a simple task that can be done on the command line, typing "IPCONFIG /ALL". Usually the MAC address is called physical address.
To sum up, you can wake up remote PCs of your LAN easily thanks to this small and free program.
