Itsycal is a simple yet helpful application that sits on your Menu Bar and gives you immediate access to a calendar. This program comes as a quicker alternative to launching the Mac's default Calendar app and checking the notes or events for the current day.
The utility communicates well with Mac's default Calendar, uses a small amount of CPU resources while running in the background, and brings an intuitive interface. I like the fact that Itsycal lets you choose which type of notes to reveal from the Calendar app next to their correspondent days (Work, Personal or Birthdays related).
Another good aspect about this Mac tool is that it allows you to define a global hotkey for revealing the calendar at once.
Personally, I would've like this program more if it offered me the ability to add events to the calendar. Nevertheless, you can enter event info within Mac's default Calendar app and Itsycal immediately updates its records.
To sum things up, Itsycal isn't the best there is when it comes to checking the calendar notes, but it offers you quick access to your daily events and sits quietly on your Menu Bar. Plus, the application is free of charge.
