iSubtitle is a video player and editing tool for Mac OS X. It can be used for a variety of purposes. Perhaps the main one is to allow you to play video files with subtitles on Apple software. The application allows you to watch a video file and add multiple subtitle files under iTunes, QuickTime, and other apps that use the QuickTime component for playback. It also can be used to convert files for playback on Apple mobile devices with subtitles. The supported devices are the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and AppleTV.

You can use iSubtitle as a video player as well. It is capable of opening most video file formats and it supports SRT and SUB subtitle files. It also has a search function that can download subtitles for your movie or TV show from a variety of different subtitle websites. The list can be edited on the preferences window. If you have a subtitle file with the same name as the video file in the same directory, iSubtitle will load that automatically.

In my testing, I was able to convert a file for my AppleTV and it let me use the subtitles under iTunes and on the AppleTV. The file was a little jerky and it stuttered a bit at times. Also, subtitles were shown with a transparent background that is a bit distracting to me.
