iStonsoft iPhone to Mac Transfer is an iOS backup utility. You can use to transfer data from your iPhone, iPod Touch and even iPad back to your Mac for safekeeping. For the application to work, you must have iTunes installed on your Mac. I have an iPhone that can't be synced with iTunes for some reason and this app detected it and I was able to back up some data from it. My photos from the Camera Roll, and my e-books (ePUB) were detected, but neither the music nor the videos were anywhere to be found. My iPad, on the other hand, can be synced with iTunes, and all of its data was available for transfer when I launched this application.
The graphical user interface is very simple, and, honestly, all of these "transfer" apps are very similar. There are two panes, initially. The one on the left shows your device's name and under it all the types of data that you can transfer: music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, audiobooks, books, ringtones, playlists, camera roll and photos. When you click on any of those buttons, the actual content will appear on the right pane. In some cases, the right pane is divided into multiple panes to help you browse your content easier. This is the case with music. The sub-divisions help you find artists, albums and genres quite easily
Transferring data is as easy as finding what you want to transfer, checking the checkbox next to it and then clicking on the "export checked" button in the top-left corner of the screen.
With my iPad, I was able to transfer any type of data to my Mac quite easily. The app worked very well. I wish there was an audio player or even a video player to preview content before transferring it.
