iScream is a capable recording utility for Mac that helps you capture the sounds emitted by your microphone, line-in or other input audio device. You can work with this program to record audio books, voice memos or reminders and save them to your local folders for later use.
An advantage of this program is that it allows you to choose where to display its icon (on the Menu Bar, Dock or both). Personally, I prefer to use the Menu Bar icon as it is easier to start or stop recordings and configure the app's settings according to my needs.
An aspect I don't like about iScream is the fact that it supports only three output formats: MP3, WAV, and AAC. What's more, it starts or stops recording audio content if you click over its Menu Bar or Dock icon; this feature might prove to be quite annoying if you only wish to check your recording list or go to the Preferences menu of the app.
To summarize, iScream is a helpful app that offers a very simple way to record audio content from your Mac or microphone. The program provides you with a straightforward interface, brings you various output configurations, and comes with no price.
