Perform data transfer operations between Mac and iPod, iPhone or iPad. Scan the contents of a connected device and migrate materials such as audio files, eBooks, video clips, iTunes elements, etc. Preview and customize the list of available items to get the results you want.
iRip lets you backup your entire iDevice media library, including videos, photos, apps, and music on your computer. In case your hard drive failed and you lost all of your music collection, you can restore all or part of it from your iDevice using this program.
I've tested at least 2 different programs that can transfer music from your iDevice to your computer, but this program seems to work faster than the other two. You can transfer your files to a particular folder, directly to iTunes, or all of your media library (movies, photos, audio, etc) to your apple computer (physically and iTunes).
The program literally copies a file 1 to 1. It keeps all the attributes and additional meta information for the file, such as album art, the number of skips and plays and so on.
The trial version only lets you save 50 items. The counter of how many items you have left is always visible and kind of annoying, but it does serve its purpose. The single computer license runs at around 20 bucks, and the family license (5 computers) is 30 bucks.
Overall, if your harddrive failed and you lost your media library, this program is the first thing you should download to restore some of your media library from your iDevice.
