IPShifter is a small but useful application that allows you to take control over the TCP/IP settings of the network devices installed on your computer, e.g. wireless and LAN network adapters (computer administrator account is required). Usually IP settings are configured automatically but sometimes it is necessary to do it manually, e.g. when you have more than one network.
It may sound like this application is totally unnecessary, provided that Windows already has the tools of the kind, but IPShifter also allows you to save and re-apply TCP/IP settings regardless of the Windows version, so you don't have to remember particular parameters when switching networks and only need to switch to a different profile. Besides, it contains a LAN scanner that helps you to find all the machines on a certain IP address range on a network. Finally, you can check the public IP address of your computer on the Internet. The program automatically checks for the possible country location, region, city, latitude and longitude.
