ImTOO HD Video Converter is a commercial video converter. It is marketed as a solution for converting videos between HD formats. Thus, most of the conversion profiles that it comes with are for high definition files. But, you can also use this app to convert standard definition files. The support both for input and output formats is great and there are tons of conversion profiles.
The main window shows a big space in the middle where you can drag files or simply add them with the "add" button. The app supports batch processing, so you can add many files at once and have them all converted in a practical queue. I like that you can choose different output formats for different files in your queue. There is also a video player and a CPU usage meter.
Although it says on the website that this app comes with a trimmer, I wasn't able to find it. I did find a splitting features which can be accessed from the Profile settings.
In my testing, I converted a 720p, MKV file into one of the HD MOV profiles. The process was faster than I expected and the resulting file played well on QuickTime.
In short, this is a nice converter, but I don't think its price is justifiable. It lacks some features that come with other converters and I don't think all those profiles alone are worth $49.95.
