ImTOO DVD Ripper Platinum is a video conversion tool that lets you convert your DVD movies into video files that you can later watch on your Mac or one of the many devices for which the app has conversion profiles. These profiles are pre-configured conversion options which are supposed to optimize the conversion process so that your file can be played on a specific device. There are three versions of ImTOO DVD Ripper. This one is slightly more complete than the "Standard" version, but the "Ultimate" one has quite a few more features. For example, the "Standard" version doesn't let you trim videos, merge different sources, add transitions between merged videos, or preview a trimmed segment. The "Platinum" version does all that.
Using the application couldn't really be any simpler. When the app detects a DVD in your Mac's drive, it will load it and display all the DVD titles that make it up. You can select one or many titles and convert them to any of the supported formats or conversion profiles by selecting one from the drop-down menu. I like that this app displays the estimated output size for your files before you start the conversion process.
