Rather than installing an OBD2 device, the IMS UBI Mobile application on the smartphone collects driving data. Trip recording starts and stops automatically. This application has been designed to limit GPS use where possible. IMS UBI Mobile also provides feedback to enable drivers to modify their behavior.
